LIVING BREAD - SERIES 5: THE TENACITY OF A WOMAN //BY: NEJO HARRISON

Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour....Mathew 15:21-28

Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and Cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil... Mathew 15:21-22
This passage pictures a woman crying; Lord Jesus, have mercy on me because of her daughter. She said, Lord have mercy on me, because my daughter is sick. In other words, I need mercy for my daughter, I am standing pleading mercy on behalf of my daughter who is not here. It shows the story of a desperate mother crying out loud publicly on the master for help, tendering her request with a voice of cry, not minding the massive crowd, she pressed on the Lord. She did not need help for herself, but she was standing in for her daughter.
WHY THE CRY?
My daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.. Other simpler translations put it as; I need your mercy, for my daughter is demon possessed and is suffering terribly.
Holman Christian Standard Bible: I need your mercy because my daughter is cruelly tormented by a demon.
In all these versions, we see the cruelty of a demon spirit on its subject; this is a spirit that has no good side on its victim. To be possessed is to be owned and completely under the influence and control of a force and here, it was a demonic spirit. So her torture was without mercy and the only rescue she knew was to come to Jesus, she must have been told that Jesus freely heals the sick and that demons humble themselves and cry out before him. So she cried Lord have mercy on me. It was unfortunate she met the unexpected side of Jesus.
But he answered her not a word and his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us... Verse 23

HE ANSWERED HER NOT A WORD
Jesus answered her not a word. In modern day English, it would be said as 'But Jesus ignored or snubbed her' or Jesus gave her no attention. I am yet to see a man who loves to be ignored, it has been said that the clearest way to show someone is not important is to ignore him. It's humiliating, it's ridiculous and a way to disdain another. No one loves to swallow his pride when ignored except one who has truly overcome his flesh; man will rather choose to endure his affliction than to go to a man who is known to ignore others. It could have been better if she came in the secret, she could have quietly walked away, but she came in the presence of the crowd in the city with his disciples around, meanwhile an average woman would be shy penetrating such a number of men. So everybody saw Jesus ignore her, she cried, Jesus heard but he gave no answer, this was enough reason for her to pick offense at the master, pick her things  and walk away. I thought he was merciful, I thought he was said to be compassionate to all, this was supposed to be her words, but she was not grieved, instead, she kept moving. The remembrance of a daughter who was grievously tormented by a demon kept her going. To whom will I take her? It is better to suffer humiliation here in the presence of all these men and have my daughter freed from torment. When there is no alternative, we cling to the only available option, when you see people who have no one to help them, no relation in high positions of power, they make God their only help. So she pressed on, she persisted, she cried even more. No one persists on a thing without a focus on either what he stands to gain or loose falling out; Jesus enduring the pain and despising the shame was because He knew there was a joy set ahead of Him. In wrestling or boxing competition, in championship tournaments, the belt is always shown to them and kept where they both can see it, so in the face of blood, you see men resilient and some will choose to die on the ring holding on rather than throwing in the towel. This woman's passion was for her daughter, she had seen enough of her pain, so she had made up her mind to give it all it takes.
But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us... Verse 23
SEND HER AWAY!
Here came the disciples doing what they are known to do... Send this woman away, she is constituting nuisance here crying after us, they did not want noise at all, nobody should disturb our Jesus. I have heard people call me and say, Please I don't want to disturb you oh, kindly pray for me, some when you minister to them, they see it as a big favour you have rendered to them failing to realize every anointed man is carrying oil for the people, no man is anointed for himself and it is in acting out the purpose for the anointing you make glad the one who puts the anointing there.  Jesus of Nazareth was anointed with the Holy Ghost and with power to go about doing good, healing the sick, which is the purpose for the anointing. So when Jesus sees the sick, He remembers, these are the people I am anointed for, He cheerfully ministers to them but the disciples did not see it so, they never wanted  their master stressed so they love to shield Him away from people who needed His help.
They brought Children to Him that He might lay his hands on them for blessing and impartation but they rebuked those parents until Jesus interrupted them. Let them come, he said.. Matthew 19: 13.
And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.  But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.. Mathew 14:15-16
Send them away, let them go and buy for themselves victuals, in other words, let every man go find a way to survive, but Jesus said, no, let me minister to their needs also, hunger is important a need as spiritual needs too. Jesus is not only concerned about our spiritual problems, but He wants to meet our physical needs too, He desires to see us live fine too.
FOR SHE CRIETH AFTER US!
They must have said, who is this woman making noise behind us? Please send her away. I am glad it is not in their power to send men away. They still must take approval from him, send her away, they must have waited for Jesus to say go and they will complete the away, Jesus never says go away. Oh Hallelujah! For whoever comes to him, whoever it may be, he shall by no means cast away John 6:37.  I love NIV translation of the scripture; ‘I will not drive away’. If Jesus does not drive you away, no man can.
But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel... Verse 24
You are not relevant to my ministry, you are not a partaker and beneficiary of my ministry,  that was Jesus' first word to a woman who had gone through a lot to gain his attention as she got a rejection, but look at her reaction below;
Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me... Verse 25
SHE CAME AND WORSHIPPED HIM!
Who taught a Canaanite the act of worship? Who taught her the mystery of worship? Who taught her what lies at the feet of Christ? You can not worship a man standing shoulder to shoulder with Him, she definitely was at his feet. Who taught her no one comes kneeling at his feet condemned rises not justified? Friends, there is mercy at the feet of Jesus, the same place Mary knelt and his brother Lazarus was called out of death, the Gadarene mad man knelt there and he was emptied of his demons.
The woman caught in adultery found his knees and she rose up justified, the leper who pleaded, Lord, If thou be willing, make me clean, bowed there and left cleansed. (Read more about people who harnessed the mercy at Jesus' feet. Matthew 9:18-19, Matthew 18:26-27).
Worship at Jesus feet was a way of drawing His compassion. It actually takes brokenness and humility to bow at His feet, the knees of men who are genuinely broken and humble are never too far from the ground. God's compassion is provoked when men bow at his feet. Every true benevolent act is a product of genuine compassion. She came and, knelt saying Lord, help me… Verse 25.
LORD, HELP ME
The acknowledgement of Jesus as Lord; it is one thing to know Jesus, it is another to acknowledge Him as Lord. Knowing Jesus is good but there is more; there is another experience of coming under His Lordship, to have taken Him as Lord and you, his subject. With this, I began to see why she was not offended at His every disposition because the Lord should do what He likes and pleases Him with his subject. Either he grants her request or not, either He is friendly or unfriendly.
But He answered and said, it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs... Verse 26
DO NOT GIVE A CHILD'S BREAD TO A DOG
Haa!!! Jesus isn't this too much? Why liken this woman to a dog? Could Jesus not have looked for other friendly adjectives to liken her to? Jesus must be sure of what He meant by calling her a dog.
What is a dog? Let's see Biblical illustration of a Dog
·         Dog as evil workers: Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision. Philippians 3:2. Dog as illustration of Sodomite prostitution, lust, immorality, sexual sins and perversions, Woredome. Deuteronomy 23:18
·         Dog illustrating Backsliding: Proverbs 26: 11- As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.
·         A dog does not only return to his vomit, but it also feeds on others mess. They are unclean beasts, there is an African proverb that says a Sheep that keeps company with a dog will eat faeces. This is very true, sometimes ago on my way to church, I got to place and perceived human faeces in that environment, shortly after, I saw two dogs around spying the land until they located it and cleaned it off, then I remembered, dogs are unclean animals. It was dogs that leaked off Lazarus sores. It must be a big stinking sore other animals saw and ran but dogs leaked it. Luke 16:21
·         They illustrate impurity, unholiness and defilement: Matthew 7: 6. Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. Don't give what is holy and precious to dogs, because they will trample it under their feet, meaning, they will make mess of it, disvalue it, this must be Jesus' reason for refusing her.
First, Jesus’ mission was first to the people of the covenant, i.e., the Jews, who were awaiting the Messiah. He had made it clear that He is sent to the lost sheep of Israel, So the mission to the gentiles was not granted until the Ascension, when Our Lord said, “Go ye into all the world and make disciples of all the nations” Mathew 28:18-20. Nevertheless, He already had shown His openness to the gentiles, like curing the centurion’s serving boy (Mathew 8:5-13). So here Jesus was making it known with the nature of a Dog explained above that as a Gentile, healing would make her return to her vomit, she would return to her sin, but this woman did not allow this to put her away.
It is an insult to be likened with a dog, I have tried to compare this woman to every other woman I know, an average woman would have taken her scarf and walk away, even prostitutes hate to be addressed as whores, but she endured the insult, she rather choose to bear the insult for her child to be well. Mothers, how long can you stand in prayer for your family? Desperate women go at the expense of their life, they give up the sleep, give up the comfort and give it whatever it takes in righteousness. Many destinies are ruined today because mothers could not go the extra miles, if there is anything I am grateful to God for today, apart from my salvation and relationship with Jesus, it is a praying mother He gave me, mothers who will neither eat nor drink until what they are believing God for on their children becomes a reality. You hear their voice overnight; a good way to know a devout woman in prayer is that you hear her voice overnight, she keeps vigil, she can watch at night while the children sleep, she holds them in prayer. This woman, though a Canaanite and a Gentile but played out an example of a real mother for all to learn from today, still she stayed and said, yes Lord, call me a dog, I don't mind, let my child just be well.
And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.. Verse 27
TRUTH LORD!
I acknowledge that Lord, you have spoken well, I admit that we are unworthy and so I am, but still Lord, consider that even dogs, are fed from their master's table. That's the language of an intercessor; they hold God and are not easily put off neither do they give up cheaply, they know how to negotiate with God, give Him reasons why he should shift His judgment in their favour and their language is still in the book of law. She was pleading that even if I am not qualified, mercy can qualify me. Oh! How I love the Canaanite woman.
The problem with many believers is not that we don't pray, but we do not pray till the desired result comes, we don't hold on till what we seek comes, God seeks men who will press like Daniel, on their knees, who will not stop knocking the door of heaven until God looks down into the matter.
All the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change comes. Job 14:14b
I will wait, until... Meaning the only condition for leaving is that the change comes. Quitting is bound on the manifestation of the change.
Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour... Verse 28
GREAT IS YOUR FAITH!
Here is a relationship between faith and persistence! Whatever a man believes on, he persists on, that is why if a man gives up too quick, it is an indication he never believed initially. She believed and held on, though it tarries but it shall come, her faith drove her on. So going through all the phases discussed above, her driving fuel was her faith
Be unto you as you want... And her daughter was made whole. Her want was that the daughter be made whole so she was. I want to tell you, you shall have what you want if you faint not. If you can press a little further. When the woman got home, she saw her baby in her right frame of mind, she saw what she fought for right in her hands. If you don't faint, you will have what you are asking for, you will have your joy restored, you will see that bad child change for good, you will see that alcohol addicted man crawl back home saying Jesus, you will see that difficult situation submitting to you again, only if you will not give up praying.
A WOMAN AS AN INTERCESSOR
Every woman is wired to be an intercessor, it is their default state of operation, and anyone who runs less of this has only fallen short of his designed mode. It is so because a woman is made with compassion, this is key to effective intercession. It is compassion that is burnt as fuel which keeps her going.
Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.. Isaiah 49:15
Can she forget a child that sucked from her beast? The child she carried in her womb for months? This shows the connection between sucking and stay of a child in the womb with the compassion she has for her. Some ask, why do children love their mother more than their fathers and it's like there is a natural bonding between them and their mother than it is with their fathers? This seems to answer right.
No one can stand in gap for another without compassion. When you see someone standing steadfastly in prayer for another, that person is full of compassion for the other person and that is what grips his heart and makes him see the need to bring that person's need on himself. This compassion in women makes them a good instrument of prayer and when you see men drop out on the child, it is because fathers don't love stubborn children, they push them to their mother, they can not go far accommodating them, their elastic limit to which they can contain the child is easily exceeded, but women persist; I carried him in my womb, he sucked from my breast, that are always their words. So when a Joseph was far wanting, a Mary was busy looking at his son even during his trials, in the face of terrible whips, this is where the tenacity of a woman is spelt. Although a weak vessel, but strong  holding on; the whips did not make her turn back, they must have persuaded her to avoid seeing the bloody and brutal scene of her suffering son, till the point of mother behold your son, Jesus  handed her over to John. Uncle Joseph must have said, I don't know where Mary brought this wonder Holy Ghost conceived boy from, he gave up and glued to his carpentry. Then after his resurrection, While Joseph said, he is not a kid, when he resurrects, he will come home, Mary with other woman were at his tomb, despite the morning cold severe enough that Peter warmed himself with fire three nights before, the cold was not enough to stop her, she stood up early and went for him; my son should have risen. Many times, you see a woman switch into tears in prayer under the influence of compassion. It is their wiring, when the tears flow, allow it. God sees it. It touches him too
God has put it there for a reason, let's channel that compassion over our children and profit them. That child that is wayward does not need spanking as much as he needs prayer, that baby that is dull headed can as well be prayed for. Many elderly women today learnt to pray for their children late after they had shapened their life with curses and vain words, but a wise woman learns early to calve out the future she desires for her child with her words in prayer.
God still looks for the Canaanite kind of women today, when your child enters God's purpose early and all is well with him, you will rest. Pray now so you can rest later.
God bless you

NB: the description of dogs is on the general basis and for biblical references only and not as a disdain to the animal or their owners

THE NEED FOR EVERY CHRISTIAN TO SUPPORT MISSIONARIES// BY: OGUNTOKUN ESTHER ADEOLA

Vol. 19.07.45
credit:google.com

‘Among the prophets and teachers of the church at Antioch of Syria were Barnabas, Simeon (called “the black man”, Lucius (from Cyrene), Manaen (the childhood companion of King Herod Antipas), and Saul. One day as these men were worshipping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “dedicate Barnabas and Saul for the special work to which I have called them.” So after more fasting and prayer, the men laid their hands on them and sent them on their way. Barnabas and Saul were sent out by the Holy Spirit. They went down to the seaport of Seleucia and then sailed for the island of Cyprus.’ Acts13:1-4
The church played a pivotal role in the sending forth of their missionaries, by praying for them, they didn’t stop at this point; their support for them was continual by extending the right hand of fellowship to them.
Paul’s letters on numerous occasions bore witness to the church’s support of his mission work. He was encouraged by some who visited him (1Corinthians. 16:17-18). Christians in Macedonia gave cheerfully and abundantly to missionaries (Acts 8:1-5), Christians in Philippi ministered to the needs of missionaries (Philippians. 4:15). The Christians in Paul’s time also supported him in his travels to reach other places with the gospel of Jesus Christ (Acts 16:6).
Saul and Barnabas are just like our brothers and sisters today who have left all (extended family, businesses and personal pursuits) to answer the call of God to labour at the forefront of the work of reaching various regions in the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. These two were part of the church, and from the church, the Holy Spirit called them to another dimension of ministry.
Today, there is need more than ever for Christians to support missionaries. As the harvest was plenty then, the harvest is still plenty. Missionaries are encumbered by numerous challenges on the field-spiritual, financial, physical, difficulty of terrain and so on-and the support of Christians is a vital ‘hand of fellowship’ which they require.
Missions stand on two legs; the Goers and the Senders, both of which must be functional for the world to be reached for our Lord. The missionaries who are at the forefront of this battle for souls are the goers, while every Christian who is not a goer automatically falls into the senders’ category.
Why should Christians support missionaries?
In a war, aside the foot soldiers who are on the battleground fighting the enemies, there is always a backup team responsible for supplying ammunition, food and medical care. The effectiveness of the foot soldiers depends to a large extent how vibrant their arsenal is. For every missionary, there must be Christians who are actively supporting him or her; else effectiveness in the mission field will be elusive.
·         Joining forces with them in prayer brings results
‘Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand...’ Leviticus. 26:8
Many a battle that missionaries have to fight are those that’ll become testimonies and avenues for the display of God’s power if there will be Christians who will support them with consistent and fervent prayers. There are lands that are currently impenetrable except Christians rise to their task as senders and stand in the gap for God to break up the fallow ground and bring about harvest of souls for the kingdom.
·         Supplying their physical needs keeps them focused
Missionaries aren’t angels, they are men and so have needs. They have the basic needs for food, shelter and clothing. Besides this, they have family and social obligations and duties. They must provide for their families, cater for their children’s education and so on. Many times, they are beset with these needs that they even compete with the work for their attention. In Jesus’ days, there were women that supported his ministry out of their substance (Luke 8:2-3). As such, he was able to ‘go from place to place’, preaching the gospel and liberating men from darkness. His effectiveness was enhanced because he had these supporters. We should also support missionaries out of our substance as many of them trust God for their personal needs and for the work.
By giving to missionaries out of our substance, we are not ‘helping’ them. Many Christians see giving to missionaries as helping. Missionaries are not helpless; they have only found employment in service to God. As their primary occupation is taking the gospel to unreached nations, God also requires us to give to the work, what He has placed in our capacity to give. We ought to see supporting them as our own aspect of this ministry.
Individuals or groups of Christians can adopt mission fields to support with finance, many times; missionaries require finance to provide amenities that are lacking for the people they are reaching for Christ. Some of these places do not even have access to good healthcare, portable water and so on. Missionary kids can be adopted and placed on scholarships. With these taken care of, we are fulfilling our roles as senders, the backup team that God has put in place to join forces with the missionaries in wrestling for souls.
·         Visiting, contacting and encouraging them revitalizes them
As a result of the harsh terrain (physically and spiritually) in which many missionaries are labouring, they get sapped of energy and despair at times. The visit, encouragement and prayers of Christians revitalize them and they are able to face their task with renewed vigour.
By seeing ourselves as key players in the Great Commission, as both goers and senders are equally important in this task, every Christian must be actively involved in soul winning by functioning in the capacity God has placed him. The goers must be supported and the senders must be supporting. By this, we will be ‘laying up for we treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal’ (Mathew 6:19-20)

Don't call yourself a Christian// By: Ogunsuyi O.B.

credit:google.com

Vol. 19.06.44
Today's topic made me remember a striking experience I had some few years back as an intern in a medical diagnostic center. A certain elderly man came in for some consult and ideally, the first thing was to profile him. In doing that, I was about to write his name as Mr....and he was sharp to rebuke me that he was Rev....and not Mr.... Perplexed but dutifully, I apologized and did as he instructed but subsequently, I never stopped wondering who should be quick to give us this spiritual identity, ourselves or the world? Who is in better position to call me a Christian? Myself or my neighbor?
I don't mean to cause a misconception as ability to openly and boldly identify as a Christian is expected from a faithful follower of Jesus; after all we were charged to be ready to identify with Christ and never be shy of the cross so as not to be denied (Mark 8:38; Mathew 10:33). Moreover, it’s of essence for a true follower of Jesus Christ to aptly identify his faith especially when found in alien regions or in a mixed multitude. Nevertheless and without prejudice to the above, our identity as a Christian should basically be from those closely observing our lives and deeds and are convinced this is Christ-like. Recall in Antioch when the company of believers were first bestowed with the prestigious title of Christian (Acts 11:26), whether or not this title came from believers or not we were not told but a closer analysis inform that 'the believers were called Christians for the first time in Antioch. This tells three things: 1. those that called them are most likely not believers as the text would have rather read 'they called themselves Christian for the first time in Antioch. 2. It is even more interesting that the Christian identity was first obtained in a non-Jewish city. Antioch is a Greek city and hence, is certain to be most populated by the then 'unbelievers ". Actually, the few pioneering believers in this city we were told came there as a result of persecutions that erupted after Stephen was martyred. "Meanwhile, the believers who had been scattered during the persecution after Stephen’s death traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch of Syria. They preached the word of God, but only to Jews. However, some of the believers who went to Antioch from Cyprus and Cyrene began preaching to the Gentiles about the Lord Jesus" (Acts 11:19-20).
What then shall we say? It is not enough for me to call myself a Christian if my environment does not recognize me as same. How will I be recognized? Simply by my words, deeds and dealings with others. These are the major emblems that should first speak out a Christian's identity. People must be able to readily identify my faith by my conversation; by what I say and what I don't. When it becomes difficult to identify clearly a Christian after few minutes of engaging in a conversation, then something is wrong. This is not a matter of he introducing himself as a Christian (of course anyone can claim anything) but being able to pick from his words where he belongs.  After all, bible says; ‘out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks(Mathew 12:34).’ Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone’ (Colossians 4:6). ‘Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them’ (Ephesians 4:29).
Another major lesson from the Antioch naming was the fact that Christians were first named among the gentiles or the so called ‘unbelievers’ if you want to be direct. Antioch was a Greek province and hence we expected to find mainly the Greeks who as at then were regarded as the unbelieving gentiles. So it becomes more interesting that those who first gave the name where most likely gentiles. The name actually must have come from a deep reflection on the conducts of the disciplines and they were convinced they exhibited Christ-like attitudes. A deep reflection because the Greek were quite meticulous and always seeking after that which brings or reflect wisdom (1 Chor 1:22:’For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom). Therefore, what could make the people of Antioch to see Christ-like characters in the apostles to be able to call them Christians should also be seen in us today by people of the world. What then do the Antiochians saw? Christ-like attitudes which can be attested to in Acts 2:44-47
44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common; 45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, 47 Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

FROM THE ARCHIVE://LIVING BREAD - SERIES 4: THE SEX GATE //BY: NEJO HARRISON

credit:google.com
Vol. 19.05.43

GATES:
What is a gate? A gate is an opening on the wall of a building that serves as a point of entry and exit to confined place.  It is where traffic (activities) and determined and controlled. It serves as a unit of security determining what activities take place in the protected area.

The security and safety of a place depends largely on the strength of the gate/doors that opens to the place. We have seen that naturally a fenced house having a gate sends  a no-go-area message to everyone who passes by, no one seeing a fenced compound with the gate/door shut, goes close except he has something important to do in there, It is not so with a house without a gate, it is opened to all manners of activities, a man with insanity can carelessly pillow his head on the corridor of the house and pass his night before anybody wakes up and disappears. A thief can as well drop stolen items and go his way, strangers popped in and out unchecked because there are no gates or because the gate keepers are asleep or out of work, but a house closely secured is free from unwanted interference. A wise enemy thrives to conquer at the gate because once the gate is opened or the wall is broken, the subjects in there are disarmed, hence the need for strong gate keepers whose work is to ensure the gate is kept shut against intruders.
Joshua 6: 20- 21, So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the PEOPLE WENT UP INTO THE CITY , EVERY MAN STRAIGHT BEFORE HIM , AND THEY TOOK THE CITY.... the Gate is opened the city was taken no wonder dangerous men were assigned to watch the way to Jesus' tomb to prevent his disciples access .

There are gates at different levels in the Spirit and in the physical. Below is a list of some
 Nation gates. Joshua 6:1,
 City gate. 2 Kings 14:13,
Family Gates where the father is the keeper (Exodus 12:7)

There are PHYSICAL GATES and there are SPIRITUAL GATES.

But the latter is going to be our emphasis because everything represented in the physical is an adoration of a spiritual message. Every physical thing in the kingdom stands for something in the realm of the spirit and the spirit realm is real, more real than the physical realm seen with our optical eyes.
Spiritual gates that open up to our lives
Gates occur at different levels of life ranging from individual life gates, family gates, community gates, city gates, national gates to planet gates (having earth gates). You will see that in each of them, they are in plural forms, e.g man's life gate-S, not gat-E, because every good building contains more than one gate, one sometimes at the front, another at the rare in case of disaster, robbery, fire disaster, and a door is not accessible, another will be used.

And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it. Exodus 12 : 7 and then life gates, including the head gate, the eye gate, the mouth gate, the ear gate, the heart gate and SEX GATE which is the emphasis of this message, all these are the doorways to a man's life
 SEX GATE
Sexual intercourse is the mating together between a male and female partner through their respective sex organs, this enhances intimacy between two individuals, not only does it play the role of reproduction, but gives pleasure and satisfaction, leading to soul bonding. It is one of the most effective passages/doorways through which the devil gain access into human life. Through this medium, there is practically nothing the devil cannot do to the destiny of a man (or woman) who is sexually loose. It does not matter how violently he can pray or how gifted he is in Spiritual gifts, he becomes open to Satan's activities all the time because of this loose gate. Many people today especially the youths and the teenagers,  have become victims, carriers and embodiment of legions of demons today while some have their destinies thwarted all because they fail to lock up this gate that has made giants fall like mere men and men of velour die like chicken e.g Samson. Judges 16v1-19.

Marriage is used to communicate God's way of bringing us into communion and partnership with the nature of Christ through the Spirit Every arrangement of God is capable of giving life if rightly applied and capable of bringing death if approached wrongly... The same tree of life brought about death, the same word that gives life killed the unproductive fig tree. The intention of God for sex is that it should be practiced between married couples. God forbids it between unmarried men, not between friends, between business associates, not even between men in courtship, not between boyfriends and girlfriends, only between married couples. That is the standard of God, anything outside that is a SIN.
Genesis 2: 24. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
They Shall CLEAVE... This is all encompassing. Cleave, fuse and join together and shall become ONE FLESH, this does not end with wedding ceremony, but a lifetime process. The outcome of the fusion is to make TWO, not three or more, not one, but two. The intention of God for sex is making two become one, the oneness is not in merging them together, but that though they be two, but are now one Spiritual inseparable person, such that even after the man leave the woman physically and he travels, there is the remains of that person he has left inside of her and he goes to where he is with the component part of the woman.... One person leaving in two separate bodies....
1 Corinthians 6:15. Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. v16. What? Know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? For two, saith he, shall be one flesh. v17. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
Don't you know your bodies are the members (parts) of Christ? How come is it possible to associate this parts with harlot? Verse 16, do you not know that joining with a strange partner makes you become one body with him/her? Aramic Bible translation puts it as, anyone who CLEAVES with a harlot comes into oneness with her. The word helotry there does not only talks about one who engages in sex as a business, but activities of sex outside wedlock… He says it is a means of joining. The oneness here means he becomes partaker with her, so that all that is her constituent does not just diffuse to him, but becomes fully embodied in him. So that when A and B, come together, they no longer become A/B But they become A's B and B's A, that is, A becomes B's and B becomes A's. Hmmm... They therefore fulfill this scripture that Apostle Paul searched out by the Spirit of God. A wife does not have the right over her own body, but her husband does. In the same way, a husband does not have the right over his own body, but his wife does... 1 Corinthians 7:4. Hmmm... The implication of this is that, A can no longer say I own my body, neither can B, because A is already part of B's body and vice versa, because he already through intercourse has shared part of his components, his being, his entirety to the partner. He is now two people in one and so is she, my wife carries my wisdom, I carry her dimensions too, she carries my presence and I do of her too...This is God's intention of making two become one, he gave us a practical experience of this to become partakers of that very nature of Christ, that is, having the life of Christ in us, we access that through fellowship and Intercourse with the Holy Spirit, through the fellowship/communion with the Spirit, the gift of Spirit which is also called character of Christ (nature/life of Christ) is manifested in us.. So a woman through fellowship with her husband takes the nature and character of the man. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the PROMISES that enable you to SHARE HIS DIVINE NATURE and escape the world's corruption caused by human desires. 1 Corinthians 1:4
Satan knows this secret of oneness of two becoming one, so he came in and the oneness that is supposed to take place among people who have come under wedlock and cannot be disjointed, he brings the oneness among men that mostly will not join. So he can cause one of his children who is a carrier of demons or other cabbages, to be joined to a child of God, defiling him in the process.
Friends, I like you to know that two persons are in context for possessions of your body, the Spirit of God and Satan. When you through sex welcome such activities, Jesus vacates naturally, he does not struggle for space.
1 Corinthians 6: 15. Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot?
Meaning that, I will rather leave. Jesus will never struggle for indwelling, then you hear him say in Rev 20:3, I stand at the door knocking again. Satan has taken advantage of this gate to penetrate the life of many young people today, some cannot even control the urge anymore because it's no longer a natural urge, but a spirit calling for it.

Dear sister, any man who is desperate to see your nakedness as the condition to marrying you is nothing but an agent of the devil in disguise. It does not matter if he is costumed in suits, he could be your youth pastor or choir coordinator. He is under the influence of Satan. You have to lock your gate and keep the key with Jesus until that glorious night, you are too precious to open up to that careless man who has not even found his bearing with God who will only include you in his confusion. This body of yours belongs to the Holy Ghost. He bought it with a price, the blood of Jesus. If you want to know the value of a thing, consider the cost on it, the cost that purchased you was the BLOOD OF JESUS, you have been bought with a price, you no longer own your body, it belongs to the one who died for you. Jesus the owner, is jealous over it. I hear every day from sisters, up till today how that brothers condition the term of marrying them to sex, why not be that different lady that will say to that player boy to go away and watch as he loses you into better hands, do not be terrified that you will not find one to marry you, I say it's not true. Dear brothers, you appear so decent and spiritual, and sisters trust you, but you take advantage of their innocence, as the coordinator in one post of duty or the other, your secret work shall soon be visited and rewarded in the open.

Many today have become partakers and partners with things they never bargained for all because of the looseness of their sex gate. They only bargained for a little enjoyment, all to have come into lawful partnership and union into generational patterns and covenants that be in the life of the other partner, the ones they knew not and they wonder how certain things came into their life, please know that you become partaker with whoever you sleep with, no matter how many or few they are. May I ask you? Can you count the number of people you have partnered with? If each one carried at least two devils and you have come into fellowship through sex with 3, I believe you know what that amounts to. The entirety of sexual intercourse either in or outside wedlock is to make two become one body... Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh. 1 Corinth. 6:16
